Pablo Rivera

Biography

Pablo Rivera’s sculpture comes from a need to communicate timeless, universal issues, emotions, and sensualities at a deeply personal level. In his work, elements do not necessarily “go” together, but when combined, they do provide a new visual experience. He wants to give his audience new experiences, sometimes pleasant -even humorous- sometimes disturbing. Pablo’s current method of working with wood is laminating several pieces together then carving a pre-conceived image. He has been using scrap pieces discarded from projects from wood shop machine demonstrations to make his laminations. Experiments in laminating stone adds new dimensions to his search for form with meaning.
